Coaching is simply two people having a conversation. Our sessions will provide you with a safe space where you can reflect on what’s happening in your life, explore your options, and develop a motivating plan of action to move things forward.
Change takes time and can be hard work: everybody wants change but we all struggle to make that change happen. Coaching helps by encouraging small continuous changes over time, and by giving you a travelling companion, your coach. My role as your coach is to be there to support you when you need it and celebrate your successes, but also to hold you to account for doing the things you said you would, and to hold up a mirror so you can understand yourself better.
Coaching can feel challenging, but the bigger the challenge the bigger the transformation.
Coaching is different from counselling, or psychotherapy. Coaching generally focuses on specific, short-term goals and is a time-bound. In coaching we will talk about feelings and emotions and the things that matter to you, but in the context of enabling you to learn and grow so that you can achieve your personal goals. As your coach, I will make sure there is some structure to our sessions which allows for action, reflection and learning.
How do coaching sessions work?
We will meet regularly via phone or zoom for an hour, the frequency will depend on what you need. You can choose to have walking coaching sessions by phone, zoom sessions or a mixture of both.
In the sessions themselves, I’ll ask you a lot of questions and do a lot of listening, giving you space to talk and reflect. At the end of the session I’ll make sure we finish with some clear goals and take-aways for you to action before your next session.

Before we start working together, I’ll arrange a call with you to discuss the changes you’d like to make and any specific goals that you want to achieve. We’ll talk about the practicalities of the coaching sessions and I can answer any questions that you have. This is also known as a ‘chemistry call’ – it’s an opportunity for both of us to check we feel comfortable working together, and there is no charge for this call.
